English 4, Post 7, 'Changes to my study programme'

 hello my readers:

Biochemistry is a career that has the fameus of having a stranger study programme, this is an opinion very common between the Pharmaceutics and the Biochemisters, Biochemistry has the worst study programme of all the campus, and the worst is this study plan is new, it was made in 2016 and  it is impossible changing it in the  short term.

I will explain why addressing the curriculum, for example, in the first semester we have Calculus Introduction, General Chemistry 1, Mechanics and Scientific reasoning and communication, one day I talked with Jorge Reyes, Mechanic's Boss Teacher, and he told me that before 2016 (with the old study programme) Mechanics was a second-semester subject and that shocked me because, in my life, I would never thought that (also considering that in schools we don´t use much Math to do the exercises, just formulas and more formulas) then I saw the Study Programme of some Facultad de Ciencias (de la Universidad de Chile) careers and I discovered that all the careers have Mechanics after passing Calculus Introduction, and Jorge Reyes Also told me that the best way to understand Physics (which includes Mechanics and Electromagnetism) is knowing the Calculus used by Newton to discovered it (which includes, Functions, Trigonometry Limits, Derivatives, Graphics, Vectors and Integrals), in Calculus introduction we only see Functions, Trigonometry and Limits, but those math tools are very usefull and having Mechanics after Calculus Introduction people could understand much better the Physics, so this must be corrected in the study programe of ALL careers (because subjects from first semester to fourth semester are common for the 4 careers of the Faculty)

Also mechanics in this Faculty we could not learnthe Firs unit (Cinematic) eith trigonomy becouse Trigonomy is the third unit of calculus introduction and in school, student majority dont learn trigonomy (even thought it is not the same the trigonometry of school and the trigonomentry of calculus introductio) in school, so it is hard for student when in the second unit (dynamicd) they see exercises with trigonometry and the don`t know well how to solve because they did´t see trigonometry at school.

about the use of Technology, something that I liked a lot in Calculus Introduction, Mechanics and ELctromagentism is the fact that we learned some Excel Tools and I think that Excel is a very important tool to do everything in Science, so I think that the course of Computacion Basic and Advanced must have it all the careers (Basic Computation is an elective for first-year student and Advanced Computation is only Obligatory for Food Engineering students and has Estaditics of requisite)

English 4, Post 8 [FINAL], 'English Language challenges'

Hello, my readers: Today I am going to tell you about my experience learning English at university; Honestly when I arrived at the university I did not know much about this language, however, I have realized how important it is in the field of my career and that it is usual that in subject, the teacher send material in English, so it has not been as difficult as I thought at the beginning, because it is increasingly common in my day to day. Now, regarding the use of blogs, I think it is very entertaining and it has helped me to learn new words, for this razon it helps me to one of my biggest challenges, that is, the lack of vocabulary

 I try to think things through in English, but to be honest lately I've been too busy and haven't been able to reinforce this important skill as much. On the other hand, another of my challenge is pronunciation and establishing conversations, I would love to be able to practice every day with someone.

 

I hope one day to speak fluently, I feel that I still have a lot to learn and practice, but I am confident that with the development of my career I will be able to function in the best way in this important aspect of language, because of my career demands it.

In our country, the outstanding biochimest Pablo Valenzuela establishes in an interview conducted by the newspaper "El Mercurio" (December 12, 2020), that the role of the State is to support scientific research in its first steps, since the initial resources are few and strong support for pure science is needed, since this is the seed of development and also allows the State to contribute with less money and for when the Project works between the role of the private area. It ended with a quote from Pablo Valenzuela: "The role of the State has to do initial science and initial part of the companies"

English 4, Post 6, 'Time Travel to the future'

     Hello my reader, today I will write about the supposed case of traveling to the future; 

Really, If we look panorama of humanity, the future does not produce me animus for visit him, as we know very good the destination of humanity have really poor probability to be successful, however as I must to choose a option, I will prefer visit the a near future. in fact, It could be after graduating in biochemistry, becouse as I said in previus lines, the distant future does not excite me, so I choose this option, dispite that the universitary procces is intersting, I could save me of stress. ¿When? Obviusly this depent of my acts, results and procces, I hope that It happend early.

So, It is obviusly that I would like to stay there, and simply I might cotinue my normal life of scientist. Of course if I travel to this time I  hope will have a lot of  knowledge in relationship with my studies, and in this way contribute In the progress of humanity, spacially in how we will adapt to ambiental condition, through the advance of science like genetic, inmunology, and a lot of kind like that... Also it is one of few razon  of visit that future, I think that the science will suffer a big evolution. in fact now we can see that, and I am really happy for participate in this process.

English 4, Post 5, 'My future job'

 Hello everyone, today I will tell you about my future Job:

Honestly, I still dont know what to work on, but I think that i could dedicate myself in Bology molecular and sistem fisilology area; I wish investigate in this areas and I could work in a investigation labatory of that aspect of the science, I would be happy if that plan is successful... However my second plan is to work with PDI in the seccion of biochemestry and biology laboratory.

Now ,I ask myself ¿Who wants to work locked up?,  I need free air, I dont know if I could support be all day in the same place, It is the razon that explein why I want to work in biology molecular and sistema  fisiology area, although everything is focused on experimental work in the laboratory, I suppuse that a big part of the work is gather information and for that I could need visit a lot of places… Dispite that I dont care work long hours in a laboratory, I think that I am acclimated thank to COVID-19.

In other hand, I don't care a lot the aspect of salary, because of  I believe that all is better than anything, jajajj  It is  a joke…

So, in conclution I think that with the time I will discover in what area I could dedícate, becouse i feel that i still dont know anythings about science in general…

English 4, Post 4, 'Themed Free Post [II]'

 

Hello every one, as I talked to you in other blog I´m studying biochemestry and today I will talk how this science make the world a better place.

The first that I think is that all the sciences make the world a better place, of course in the correctly hands. Dispite this I don`t  want think abaut that.

How can the topic of my studies affect the world? Is very easy respond this question, We only need detect the pandemic, Without this studies We would not have the vaccine for COVID-19, or We would not know if you have disease. But It dont mean that biochimestry is a new science, in fact the history of this branch of knowlegge began 5000  years ago. With the production of bread using yeast. I could give you many more examples…

But now, How I see myself in this process? I will be honest, I do not know yet, I want to spend my time in search solution to reverse climate change, other thing may be is help to science in find solutions for people`s health, but as I said in last time, I do not know what to do, only I want title me one day, jeje.

And finally What makes my studies something that contributes to the world’s benefit?

Well biochymestry is a Branch of knowlege that study the chemistry composition of living being, and this has the objetive to studie all te aspect that contribute in the funcional life of organims,  in effect from this science the world has moved on, the medicine advance are thanks to this science, It so that biochimestry has aported in how are mecanims of diseases, in such a way that the scientists have found the treatments. But it isn`t the only contribution to world, becouse this science is aplicated in a lot of branch now it covers many needs, as a couse of his aplied knowlege in chemestry , life science, and his problema solving performance

English 4, Post 2, 'Choosing between: (a) The best holidays or (b) The best concert'

Hello my readers, In this blog I will talk about my favorite concert.

First, I should tell you that it was my first big concert, The name of concert is "Colors Night Lights Summer edition" and it took place in velodrome of  Nacional Stadium, in January 2019.

I went with my best friends and  really enjoyed all of this beautifull concert,  something that I can remember is that my friend couldn`t find his ticket and thanks to that we lost a part of Godwana presentation. 

 Nonetheless, after some time, 20 minuts more or less ,  he could find  the ticket, and we could enyoy the rest of show, after of Godwana  the show of Sticky Fingers started , My favorite crew. The sensation is imaginable, becouse  I never thought I could see them live, and really  It was very excited for me and my friends, I treated sing all the song, even though I didn't know them and my friends jocked about that.

Around of stadium there were many shops of , clothes, psychedelic glasses, mask, food, between other thing. 

The next presentation was from  Donavon Frankenreiter, Honestly, I didnt know him, but it was better, becouse  I liked and  I enyoyed in the same place and in the same time that i saw him for first time, and it was very cool moment.

Finally, Wiz Khalifa he led the stage, all the people was ecstatic with excitement and joy. His presentation was very funny.

Really  it was a great experience.

English 4, Post 1, 'A country you would like to visit'

 Hello my readers, today I will tell you about a country that I would like to visit, Mexico.

The main reasons for choose this beautiful country is his curious gastronomy and culture, I admire his typical food and I like so much the spicy meals. I always watch videos in youtube of people who visits a lots of place of Mexico, and I wish live that kind of experiences in live meat.

If I go to Mexico, I hope to try all the kind of "tacos" and also visit his beautiful turistic centers, I know that he have a lots of good places to visit in his holidays, like his coasts and cultural places like "El templo de Kukulkán". It is a prehispanic building located in Yucatán. Another activity thaty i find very interesting is that I will like to do is participated is in the dead day. And this  activities are only a fews examples. 

I don`t want to work in mexico, but It is not bad idea, in fact, I know a scientist that work in a lab of this country and she recommended work here for the people that dont speak in english very good. Dispite this, I  know that the science inversion and his contribution to science is very poor. Maybe I should investigate more for decide something like that. However I could live there for all the reason mentioned in this post.
